Sei tra quel 70% di australiani che usa l’inizio dell’anno per fissare degli obiettivi? Con il 2023 ben avviato, è un ottimo momento per rivalutare i tuoi obiettivi e propositi per il nuovo anno e pensare a ciò che vuoi veramente ottenere. Che il tuo obiettivo fosse smettere di fumare, migliorare le tue abitudini alimentari, perdere peso o diventare più attivo fisicamente, le cose non sempre vanno secondo i piani. A volte ci distraiamo e perdiamo la concentrazione, e questo influisce sul nostro impegno a rispettare le strategie che ci guidano verso quegli obiettivi. È anche importante pianificare le ricadute, in modo da sapere cosa fare quando l’energia e l’entusiasmo di raggiungere il tuo obiettivo svaniscono.
Uno studio di Oscarsson e colleghi (2020) ha rilevato che le persone con obiettivi orientati all’approccio hanno avuto molto più successo di quelle con obiettivi orientati all’evitamento (58,9% contro 47,1%). Cioè, le persone che si sforzavano di raggiungere o mantenere un risultato desiderato avevano maggiori probabilità di raggiungere i propri obiettivi rispetto a quelle che si concentravano sull’evitare o eliminare un risultato indesiderato. Ad esempio, “mi allenerò per rimanere forte e in forma” (orientato all’approccio) rispetto a “mi allenerò per evitare le malattie cardiache” (orientato all’evitamento).
1 Stabilisci obiettivi SMART
Il tuo obiettivo è specifico, misurabile, realizzabile, realistico e inquadrato nel tempo? Se il tuo obiettivo è vago, non saprai se l’hai raggiunto. Ad esempio, se il tuo obiettivo è “perdere peso”, prova a ridefinirlo in “Voglio perdere 5 kg nei prossimi sei mesi”, quindi elabora alcune strategie per aiutarti a raggiungere questo obiettivo. Assicurati di annotare il tuo obiettivo e di tenerlo dove lo vedi regolarmente.
2 Pensa al futuro
Quali ostacoli o barriere potrebbero sorgere nelle prossime settimane e mesi? Sii ponderato su ciò che vuoi ottenere ma realistico sui potenziali ostacoli. La preparazione è la chiave del successo, quindi è sempre utile pianificare in anticipo e apportare le modifiche appropriate.
3 Chiedi supporto
Recluta i tuoi amici e la tua famiglia per aiutarti a raggiungere il tuo obiettivo. Ciò potrebbe includere qualcuno a casa che ti assiste nella preparazione dei pasti o che si unisce a te come compagno di allenamento o di camminata. Questo aiuta con la responsabilità e può aumentare la motivazione per apportare e sostenere cambiamenti nello stile di vita.
4 Prova a documentare i tuoi progressi
Scrivilo! Se stai cercando di perdere peso, scrivi ciò che hai mangiato, documenta quanto esercizio fai e pesati ogni mese per tenere traccia dei tuoi progressi. È un’ottima visuale vedere tutto il duro lavoro che hai fatto! Non solo, ma fornirà alcune informazioni su cosa funziona e cosa no.
5 Concentrati su un obiettivo alla volta
Potresti lavorare per raggiungere diversi obiettivi di salute, ma forse devi prima concentrarti sull’obiettivo più importante? Questo potrebbe essere l’obiettivo che avrà il maggiore impatto sulla tua salute e sul tuo benessere e che probabilmente avrà un impatto positivo su altre aree della tua vita.
6 Abbraccia il processo
Fare cambiamenti nello stile di vita non è facile, perché è diverso ed è un cambiamento nella tua routine o abitudine. Abbracciare il cambiamento significa che vuoi provare cose nuove, essere avventuroso o migliorare te stesso. Se perdi una giornata di cammino o mangi qualcosa che stavi cercando di evitare, non abbatterti, ricomincia domani.
